Functional, vibrant and approachable. Jess Carter Ceramics is a thoughtfully curated, small batch pottery brand based in Southern California.

Each piece is handcrafted on the potter’s wheel using a mid-range, red earthenware. Brightly colored slips are applied to create a fun, vibrant contrast to the warm, rustic colored clay. Each color is mixed in house and is made in very limited quantities. Greatly inspired by a mix of mid-century modern design, brightly colored textiles from the Middle East and retro So Cal vibes of the 70’s and 80’s, what you end up with is work that is approachable, lighthearted, and works well in a multitude of spaces.

Hi, I’m Jess, the one woman show behind this pottery operation. I am originally from Illinois and have been in California for more than 7 years now. Although I was raised in the cornfields and am a true Midwesterner in spirit, California has stolen the other half of my heart. This place is weird and diverse and achingly beautiful and I’m grateful to call it home. I love good food and wine and dogs and Seinfeld.
